Christmas Day 2003
Christmas Day 2003
It's our first Christmas after the fires.
It's been a long hard year but things are improving. They will never be
the same, but the scars are gradually disappearing. As you can seen from
the pictures below, the evidence of the destruction is fading, but what
is taking its place is not the same as what was there originally.
The status of the garden is:
*- We now have a Gazebo.
*- The vegetable area has a trellis fence around it to separate it from
the main garden
*- There is a central lawn area with pavers surrounding it. The lawn has
not yet been planted because it is mid summer and would require a lot of
watering. We are under stage three water restrictions at the moment and
would not be able to provide the water needed to ensure the lawn grew properly.
*- The watering system has been replaced with a drip feed system.
*- Photinias have been planted in front of the fence at the rear and to
the right of the garden
*- A number of plants have been put in and thirty six cubic metres of pine bark spread around the flower beds.

Neighbours
The family at the bottom of our garden have started to rebuild their house
The block next to them on Kathner was sold and the new owners have not
yet started building
Our next door neighbours have submitted plans for their new house and had
them approved. We expect building to start in the next few weeks.
